Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will deliver an address to Congress on Dec. 21 in his first trip to the U.S. since Russia invaded his country. Zelensky’s appearance before lawmakers comes as they work to pass a $1.7 trillion spending package, which includes $44.9 billion in emergency security and economic assistance for Ukraine.

Earlier in the day, Zelensky and Biden held a joint news conference at the White House. Biden said he was “delighted” that Zelensky had made the trip.
