The clash between the Manhattan district attorney who indicted Donald Trump and House Republicans who defend the former president continues Monday when Congress is back in session with a congressional hearing about crime in New York. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, scheduled the hearing to highlight rising crime in New York during what he called the politically motivated prosecution of Trump. But Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg contends violent crime is actually down in the city.

The hearing is the latest escalation of accusations stemming from the unprecedented 34 felony charges of falsifying business records against Trump.
