UK introduces new travel rules to combat Omicron Covid variant – BBC News

Travellers heading to the UK will now have to take a Covid test before their departure in an effort to limit spread of the virus, the government has said.

Health Secretary Sajid Javid said the tightened requirements would come into force from 04:00 GMT on Tuesday.

Everyone aged 12 and over will be required to take a pre-departure test a maximum of 48 hours before leaving.

Currently people only need to self-isolate until they test negative within two days of arriving.

Hello goalpost watchers. Just a quick reminder that elsewhere in the media Boris has announced that he will tell us what we can do at Christmas on 18th December. What a stitch up this all is.

It’s not the unvaccinated people that are spreading this virus it’s the ones that have been vaccinated and allowed to travel all over the world because I’m pretty sure the government are not letting unvaccinated people travel around the world to spread this virus

The vaccinated….travelling without testing themselves and bringing new variants to the unvaccinated. It's really selfish of them to not think their behaviour affects others.
As an unvaxxed person who like most others haven't been able to travel abroad, I think the strictest of measures need to be in place for all vaxxed people traveling so they cannot bring new variants from abroad in again. This is one to many times now. The vaccine doesn't stop you spreading it so test them to the eyeballs, make them also isolate once abroad and once home, boosters every 15 minutes while abroad. Whatever it takes to stop the vaccinated bring back these new variants. Otherwise they are just being selfish to all the unvaccinated who cannot travel so cannot bring new variants into the country.

Wouldn’t want that less serious variant to take over so they could lift restrictions. Government overreach breeds more government overreach. Fun new game, rearrange the letters of Omicron and see what word you end up with.

If the people who haven't been vaccinated are forbidden from travelling abroad, who is bringing in the foreign "variants"?

I live in TN, in the USA in the country. It takes 15 minutes here for a covid test results. Not sure what it is around the world

“To be GOVERNED is to be watched, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right nor the wisdom nor the virtue to do so. To be GOVERNED is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, counted, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, prevented, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished. It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted from, squeezed, hoaxed, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, hunted down, abused, clubbed, disarmed, bound, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, dishonored. That is government; that is its justice; that is its morality.” -Pierre-Joseph Proudhon

Delta = deep sleep state (in brain wave stages)
Omicron = moronic but also in Greek means small micron
But slightly more terrifying add delta + omicron and it’s spells
