
Amid the ongoing trade war between the US and China, in which President Trump has imposed a massive 145% tariff on imports from China, ports across the United States are already beginning to see the impacts. This week, Gene Seroka, Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles, the largest container port in the Western hemisphere, said that shipments out of China for major retailers have essentially ceased, as he predicted a further 35% decline in cargo in the coming weeks.
