One hundred years ago this Monday, the Tulsa, Oklahoma neighborhood of Greenwood went from a flourishing business district known as “Black Wall Street” to ruins in a matter of days, with the loss of hundreds of innocent lives. Michelle Miller sat with some descendants to recall the past and shine a light on a path forward.

Each weekday morning, “CBS This Morning” co-hosts Gayle King, Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil deliver two hours of original reporting, breaking news and top-level newsmaker interviews in an engaging and informative format that challenges the norm in network morning news programs.

  1. Funny, they glossed over the fact that African Americans had started an armed insurrection in downtown Tulsa. The African American militants were beaten back to Greenwood, they retreated to Greenwood and then the neighborhood was burned. How do we discuss this and just gloss over the armed insurrection?

Don't forget that a group of armed African American militants open fired on an unarmed crowd of Whites. That's how this event started, that led to the end of Greenwood.

  2. We’re being lectured about race by a party who elected one of the most racist politicians in U.S. history. Soak that all in.

  3. Perhaps the descendants of the murdered white people are also owed reparations? Or is this really about the corrupt political class pandering to the so called voter base. Someone said that he did not need anyone's vote to become President

  4. "So you're him, huh… The AVENGER… The Killer of killers! Nice outfit, not sure about the face though."

    – The Crow (Avenger)

    Romans 13
"Let EVERY SOUL be subject unto the HIGHER POWERS. For there is NO power but of God: the powers that be are ORDAINED of God."

"WHOSOEVER therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that RESIST shall receive to themselves DAMNATION!"

"For RULERS are not a terror to GOOD WORKS but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good and thou shalt have praise of the same:"

"For he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, BE AFRAID, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an Avenger who carries out God’s WRATH on the wrongdoer."

    1 Corinthians 15
"Behold… I show you a MYSTERY; We shall not all sleep (Me), but we shall ALL BE CHANGED (You),"

"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible (Me, Dead in Christ), and we shall be changed."

"For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality."

"So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on IMMORTALITY, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is SWALLOWED up in VICTORY!"

"O death, where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory?"

"But thanks be to God which giveth us the VICTORY through our Lord Jesus Christ!"

"Therefore my beloved brethren, be ye STEADFAST, UNMOVABLE, ALWAYS ABOUNDING in the WORK of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is NOT in vain in the Lord."

  5. And far too many GOP fascists want to make it ILLEGAL for teachers to teach their students this TRUTH. We live in strange times.

  6. Hey CBS, I just turned 43, and I’ve decided to invest in the financial market, I have over $200k invested, I need tips on how to grow that’s to $1.5million in two years and retire at 45

  7. I wonder if they will ever bring up the zebra killing in the 70s where a racist black group killed a bunch of white people

  8. Generational trauma…give me a fkng break. My ancestors have fought in wars for generations…what they endured was their trauma, not mine. I respect them for their strength, their resolve and their ability to succeed.

  9. You can not "recall" the past if you were not there. Use your words "professional" writers!
