
Some people worry social media is changing the way we speak, pointing to the rise of “tik-talk,” the halting, vaguely Valley Girl-esque way some creators speak in voice-overs. But amid this anxiety, a raft of social media personalities has gained attention for their distinctly nonregional accents.
Style reporter Shane O’Neill talked to two content creators and a video journalist about their accents, the reactions they get and the stories behind them.
