The Supreme Court on Friday overturned its landmark decision in Roe v. Wade that established the right to an abortion. The ruling marks a seismic shift in abortion law and will usher in new rules limiting or banning access to the procedure half of the states, in some places immediately. In an speech following the decision, President Biden said the Friday ruling “must not be the final word” and urged Americans to vote. He also called on Congress to “restore the protections of Roe v. Wade as federal law.”
