Carter Watermelon is one of the oldest family-run stands in Philadelphia. It sells out its stock of watermelon, which includes a dozen or so varieties, most days in the summer, and people travel across state lines to get to it. Why? After 71 years of selling watermelons, it’s more than fair to say that the Carters are experts.
