Officials provided an update after two National Guardsmen were shot near the White House in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday in an ambush-style attack, officials said. The suspect was identified by the Trump administration as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who, a former military colleague says, commanded a unit of Afghan special forces and worked directly in support of U.S. and British troops during the war in Afghanistan.
