Man Who Tackled Sydney Gunman Is Praised as a Hero

Ahmed el Ahmed risked his life and likely prevented the Bondi Beach massacre from being even worse, officials said, in one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in Australia’s history. In the aftermath, which left the country and its Jewish community reeling, his bravery provided much-needed solace. He has been hospitalized with a “serious injury,” Australia’s prime minister said.
