A motorcade with President Jimmy Carter’s casket and family processes through his hometown of Plains, Georgia, to Atlanta, where the late president will lie in repose at the Carter Presidential Center. The motorcade will pause at Carter’s childhood home and the state Capitol before arriving to a ceremony at the Carter Center. The procession will continue to Washington on Jan. 7, where Carter will lie in state in the U.S. Capitol before his state funeral at the National Cathedral on Jan. 9.
