Victoria has recorded 20 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases and the state’s lockdown will be extended another week. Of the new cases, 15 are linked to current outbreaks and five are still under investigation, while 14 have been in quarantine throughout their infectious periods.

The identification of more community exposure to the virus and unlinked cases raises the likelihood of an extension to Melbourne’s lockdown.

The cases were detected from 41,571 test results processed on Tuesday.
