NSW has recorded 1,035 new COVID-19 cases and two more deaths in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.
It’s a new daily case record for the state, and the largest number ever recorded by an Australian jurisdiction in a 24-hour period.
Two women in their 70s and 80s died in the reporting period.
The woman in her 70s died at Nepean Hospital, after acquiring her infection there earlier this month. She is fourth death linked to an outbreak at the hospital.
