Witnesses from Perth to the central Wheatbelt have spoken of seeing what appeared to be a “fireball” tearing through the sky.
The Perth Observatory says it was likely to have been a small meteor, dismissing any connection to the Soviet-era spacecraft which plunged back to Earth after spending 53 years stuck in orbit.
