The man who pleaded guilty to killing 10 Black people in a racist mass shooting at a Buffalo, New York, supermarket, was taken removed from a courtroom Wednesday after someone rushed toward him. 

Payton Gendron, the 19-year-old white man who pleaded guilty to killing 10 Black people at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York is set to the sentenced to life in prison.

Family members of several victims spoke about their loved ones and addressed their killer during Gendron’s the sentencing hearing for Payton Gendron in Erie County Court, where he pleaded guilty in November to more than a dozen charges, including murder and domestic terrorism motivated by hate.
