Baltimore bridge collapse triggers major rescue operation | BBC News

Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge has collapsed after a large vessel collided with the structure at around 01:30 ET (05:30 GMT).

A Baltimore City Fire Department spokesperson said the bridge collapse was a “mass casualty event”.

A major rescue operation is now under way after up to 20 people and several vehicles are believed to have fallen into the Patapsco River.
