A Palestinian-American correspondent for Al Jazeera has been killed while covering a raid by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank.

Shireen Abu Aqla was wearing a flak jacket with the word “press” when she was shot “in cold blood” by Israeli troops in Jenin, according to the Qatar-based network. Her producer was also wounded.

It comes amid a surge in violence between Israel and the Palestinians.
