Lava flowed from the summit of Hawaii’s Kīlauea volcano on April 9, according to live footage from the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

“The single lava fountain produced significant heat and ash, feeding a plume that reached a maximum height of about 15,000 feet above sea level,” the geological agency said.
